Backflow Device Testing and Maintenance
Chicago Backflow Inc. (CBI) is unique in that our
service includes not only a one-time test and certification, but a
complete backflow services and maintenance program of the each backflow device we work on for one
full year! No call-back charges for cleaning or repair. We call it
our "one call does it all" program. Our current service

Backflow Device Installation
Chicago Backflow is a fully-licensed plumbing contractor. However, CBI does not perform the normal day-to-day functions of a typical plumbing company. Our specialty is plumbing in the interest of public health: we safe-guard your drinking water. We provide no other plumbing services than the installation and certification of all types of backflow prevention assemblies, ranging in size from 1/4 inch through 10 inches.
Backflow System Surveys
| A cross-connection control survey of the distribution system shall be conducted at least every two years by the official custodian or an authorized delegate." |
The above statement taken directly from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Title 35 Rules and Regulations requires the water purveyor to have performed bi-annually, a recorded survey based on a containment form of cross-connection control or on an isolation form of cross-connection control.
CBI has the technical expertise to perform and maintain a complete municipal survey that incorporates the on-site inspection with the test results of all installed backflow prevention assemblies in our computer database for review by EPA personnel.
Backflow Computerized Inventory
If you are a commercial customer, CBI maintains the record-keeping portion of your corporate backflow program as part of your backflow certification. Two weeks prior to your annual certification due date, we will contact you to schedule an appointment to ensure your continued compliance with local, state and EPA requirements.
If you are a municipal customer, CBI maintains the backflow prevention certifications and incorporates them into your system survey on a daily basis, thus ensuring that on any given day, your municipal cross-connection control program is up-to-date and ready for review by EPA personnel.

CBI is the authorized manufacturer's warranty service representative for the Ames Company. Ames is the leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of UL/FM backflow prevention valves for use in the fire protection market.
CBI takes great pride in being the industry leader in the testing of backflow devices for the fire sprinkler industry and, as such, is a member of the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA).
